Bidra med feedbackThis is a small local restaurant, combining tradition with an elegant and more cosmopolitan side. Both dishes we tried (octopus and wild boar with a red wine sauce) were prepared correctly and nicely presented. The portions are just enough for one person, so it might be a good idea to have an appetizer and/or dessert. The menu is not very extensive, which is a good sign—a sign that the kitchen preferes to specialize in a few choice dishes. The wine list is reasonable, although not updated, which unfortunately is a common feature of most portuguese restaurants. The dessert menu is also interesting and the one dessert I tried was very nice. The service could be improved a bit. We had a waitress who was not especially dedicated and could brush up on good waitressing practices. On the other hand, the person who seemed to be the maitre d' was very attentive and kind, making up for the less careful waitress. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I think I will return.
9 of us on a cricket tour descended on this restaurant for a 1st night meal. The place had been recommended by the Star Inn, some 400m walk away. The menu was written in Portuguese only (thank goodness for Google translator! , and we all chose local dishes. The service was efficient and friendly, and the food and drink were excellent and really good value. Highly recommended establishment.
Dinner at O'Loureiro was one of the highlights of our girls trip. The restaurant's very cosy and non touristy at all. Menu was short and sweet and each dish tasted absolutely delicious you have to try the fish soup! And we completely died over the mango panna cotta BEST PANNA COTTA EVER. To top it off, service was incredible! We were well looked after, the meals came quickly and price was great! Will be back again for sure!
