Bidra med feedbackMy brother and I were wandering around in the rain looking for a restaurant, we almost walked by, but we be forever grateful to whatever made us stop. This place is awesome! The atmosphere alone is worth the visit, I wish I knew who created all the art that embellished the place, it will take many visits to actually look at everything. The beer selection is more than adequate and the food is pub grub with a lean toward hearty German fare. I had the spatezel, sooooo good. Thanks a million!
Pretty great happy hour, and their venison burger looked beautiful! It was a little tough to eat, but I 'll chalk that up to being the usual 'gamey ' texture. We will totally be back to try more food and drink options.
Awesome neighborhood bar. Dark and cozy, well executed Orwellian theme, fantastic spaetzle.
Quirky bar that decor wise, so I'm told, is loosely modeled on Orwell's 1984. Had a small but decent beer selection. Didn't try the food. Server was nice, but can't say I'm a fan of having to go up to the bar to order my drinks (everyone funnelled to one server).
I really appreciate the vintage, war-torn aesthetic of this place. The TVs are especially impressive, featuring old videos, and I've heard that the owner crafted custom housings for them that resemble classic wood-paneled screens with rounded edges. The lighting and fixtures contribute to the dim atmosphere, giving it a bit of a speakeasy vibe. I enjoyed the unique cocktail menu, and although I didn't sample any of the food, that menu looked quite appealing too. I definitely want to return and explore what else this place has to offer!
