Bidra med feedbackSeeing the unassuming front and general hole in the wall aesthetic, my expectations were not that high. I was happily surprised by the quality of the food. This place is so amazing. A genuine diamond in the rough. From the kind service to the grandma emerging from the kitchen to confirm orders, I felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. This place clearly values their customers and is passionate about good food. The servings were generous, prices extremely reasonable and the place was clean, but honesty the food was just really good. I will definitely return!
I absolutely recommend this place. We started across the street because Pok Pok was recommended to us. After sitting down and getting our menu, it was not the Thai food we were wanting, so we headed down the street and back up the other side until we happened across this little Mom and Pop restaurant. Inexpensive and good side portions. I definitely recommend the mango sticky rice. I got the Pad Thai and spring rolls. My mouth is watering as I type this. So underrated. They owners were super friendly and we chatted with them for a while.
Hands down this is my favorite Thai place in Portland, and I've tried a lot of them! It's a tiny little family place, so the speed isn't as quick as bigger places but it's definitely worth the wait. The peanut sauce is homemade and amazing, and the owner/chef is incredibly nice, she's a sweetie like your mom/aunt/grandma who cooks everything with love. I definitely recommend it and I'm willing to drive/bike/walk from Northeast just to eat here.
Great flavor, big portions, generous with the spices (I like spicy so I enjoyed the burn and most of all great prices for being on a main street surrounded by over priced restaurants. My boyfriend said he felt a little sick the next morning and assumed maybe the shrimp had been the cause... but I usually always eat veg/vegan and I felt great so not sure if there was actually anything wrong with the shrimp. Otherwise he said it all tasted great too. Great curries great prices wonderful all around. Do note! This place doesn't serve any beer or alcohol so that could be a downfall for some weekend warriors. I loved it here! And a cute clever name too ;
I loved the food here! It was extremely tasty and very reasonably priced. I had the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) with tofu, and I loved them! I highly recommend checking this place out for some solid thai food! Plus, the name is great!
