Bidra med feedbackI am here now and eat the vegan chikin burger- incredible! so good!
The menu is mostly omnivore, but the helpful servers will set you up with a vegan meal--using tofu, tempeh or plant-based chicken, combined with any of their salads or pasta dishes. Cheryl's offers a good vegan chili, which I was invited to try before ordering. This is an attractive, casual place to eat solo, with friends and family, including children.
During our visit to Portland, my family and I dined at this restaurant. As the only vegan in the group, I was on the lookout for a suitable place to eat. I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy interior and the selection of vegan options on the menu.
The restaurant had a large dining area and the staff was friendly. I found the dish I ordered to be somewhat lacking in flavor, but the vegetarian chili was decent. Those who enjoy a hearty amount of "meat" in their chili may really enjoy it.
When I entered the restaurant, I informed a staff member that I wanted takeout. They directed me to the barista, which I found to be strange. The barista then directed me back to the counter to place my order. I ordered the vegan meal without avocado. My order was prepared quickly, but I was disappointed to see it come with excessive disposable items. The packaging was in a box twice the size needed, when a simple paper wrap would have sufficed. The chips came in a small disposable bag. Additionally, the box was placed in a plastic bag with plastic utensils. I found it unnecessary as I did not require utensils to eat the food. The meal tasted fresh, but the overly sweet caramelized onions overpowered the other flavors. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially considering the price.
