Bidra med feedbackNicolelina’s Cafe was our go to place for lunch in Port Moody recently. We (as a threesome) arrived shortly before 11 am, and found a handy parking spot almost right in front of the restaurant.Upon entering, we noticed the first table in the main part of the restaurant had just become available, and had been cleared and readied, it looked like the perfect spot for us. Raj (one of the owners) was soon to come over and welcome us to their place - leaving breakfast and lunch menus for us to ponder - following up with place settings and water soon after. She, and husband Jack (the Chef), own and operate this small, very neat and tidy, and spotlessly-clean restaurant. Its decor was rather cute, and cheery. Tv’s were ‘on’, but sounds on each had been turned down or off. Brightly coloured bulletin boards on walls behind the service counter, listed all the various food and beverage items. Their cafe had a rather cozy ambiance - we settled in, relaxed, and felt comfortable there. What was ordered: from the lunch features menu, we each chose a different stir fry dish, and each was ordered with the rice and naan bread option — two curry dishes: chicken tikka (for Mom), and butter chicken (for Son) - and beef teriyaki (for me). The dishes were as made-to-order as they could possibly be, and nicely-presented on large white plates — arriving at our table looking good, with nice colours and wonderful aromas. My beef teriyaki was a fine preparation, the ingredients so flavourful and tasty — beef tender and juicy, veggies (red and green bell peppers, broccoli, and onion) slightly undercooked, steamed rice perfect, and the sauce, very distinctive, without overwhelming flavours of the other ingredients. Having not shared dishes, I’m unable to talk directly about the curry dishes my dining partners had ordered - but their comments while dining, and after, sure echoed mine - indicating they thoroughly-enjoyed the preparations of their dishes as much as I did - the sweet and tender chicken, and very tasty flavour of the curries. Nothing was left on our plates - providing some further evidence that we had indeed, sure enjoyed our meals.Nicolelina’s was a great little “gem in the neighbourhood” find for us — tasty, well-prepared food, friendly, delightful hosts, and small and neat setting — we so enjoyed our lunch dining experience there.
There's a Mom and pop restraunt in your area that makes Tuna wraps and chicken wraps that are messy and delicious. Tell Jack (He thinks he's the boss) that Richard sent you and he'll tell you how wonderful I am LOL
Been there twice now for breakfast. The choices are great, the staff is very friendly, the food is fresh and well cooked, The prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be back, highly recommended
The couple running this place are a delight. Very friendly and accomodating. The food was pretty good, though not exceptional. Very clean inside also.
This place is truly a cornerstone of Port Moody, a golden mom and pop gem. This past summer was this first in a while our large group (8-10) hadn't gone to Nicolelina's for a season end wrap up breakfast. They used to accommodate all of us, as we would arrive as they just opened and had to be at Rocky Point within an hour. Great coffee and sandwiches. Keep up the amazing job :)
