Bidra med feedbackThe service may be slow, but it is definitely worth the wait! Each dish is clearly homemade and cooked to order. We were even able to make a special request for our Sunday morning breakfast and it was no trouble at all. The homemade pizza is incredible, the Caesar salad has a delicious homemade dressing and plenty of bacon. All of the produce and eggs are fresh and locally sourced. We had to wait a bit for our meal, but we were entertained by the hummingbirds flying around us during the wait.
We stayed at the Tornados Cottage resort and enjoyed 2 home cooked meals at the on site restaurant. We decided to try their Swiss inspired specials and everything was delicious. A must order is the potatoes, Rosti, they are liked potato pancakes, ask for sour cream! The schnitzel was delicious and everything was served hot, made to order. They have a wine menu and children menu. Breakfast was also terrific, they have a patio overlooking the water so that was very nice. French toast was good and again had the potato Rosti delicious! We met locals that came over for meals from their cottages/cabins so that lets you know how good this place is.
The service is slow - but worth the wait! Every plate was clearly cooked homemade and to order. We even put in a special request for our breakfast on Sunday morning and it was accommodated no problem! The homemade pizza is amazing - the caesar salad has homemade dressing and a ton of bacon! The produce and the eggs are all fresh and local. We had to wait a bit for our meals - but we were amused by the hummingbirds all around us while we waited.
Out sledding and stopped into Tornado's. A must try is the homemade pizza Excellent! A friendly place run by the owners of Tornado's Resort. Sled right to the restaurant door.
We have been cottaging in Port Loring for almost 10 years and love to have a meal out mid week. This being said, it is not easy to find a nice place to enjoy a bottle of wine and a lovely dinner. I found Tornados Resort Restaurant listed in the Loring and Restoule TRAVEL GUIDE. We dined on Wednesday, on which day it was a set meal. Lucky for us they were serving Schnitzel with homemade potato salad, cucumber salad, mixed greens salad, and tomatoes. We started with a lovely homemade zucchini soup. The owners are Swiss and with the native influence the meal was to die for. They have a small wine list but we found a suitable choice. We enjoyed a tasty pineapple and cherry schnaaps cake for dessert. Our table overlooked beautiful Pickerel Lake and our server was fantastic. See you next year!
