Bidra med feedbackGreat experience! The quality of the dishes is sumptuous, the service is reliable and rather fast. I highly recommend. Good luck, see you soon!
We stopped at Auberge des Gourmets after seeing their large reddish sign a few kilometres away and again at the locale. This is a small hotel with a restaurant serving delicious homemade food. We ordered a prix fixe menu that began with a Croute de Champignons (mushroom stew on a toasted biscuit) that was to die for. That was followed by a very tasty local trout entrée, then by several different homemade desserts (a dark chocolate mousse cake, apple tart, crème voltée (similar to flan), and pear glacé, all of which were absolutely delicious. The dining room is very pretty and offers a nice view of the lush front garden. I suspect this is THE place to stop for lunch near Champagnole in the Jura region.
We passed the restaurant around lunchtime and drawn by the many signposts we stopped for lunch. The decor is very much early 80's, the furniture, the dark green-dark brown toilet. Nothing really changed since then. The food was really good, with a lot of morilles! This is not so much a place for children, or if you are in a hurry. But if you have time and do not mind calories, go for it.
We popped in for lunch, while on our travels in the Jura. We had the most modest of the set menus, and all thoroughly enjoyed it. Trout was served with a creamy buttery sauce, which seems common in the area, and can be a bit overpowering, but here was just right. The terrine en croute was outstanding, and the deserts successful. Nice atmosphere, pleasant service. Don't miss it!
We had dinner in this Logis, where we were staying. A lovely dining room faces the garden, and eating outside is a possibility in warm weather. There was one local menu with few choices (none for the main course) at 29€, then a mix-and-match for up to 43€, but luckily there is a decent a la carte section as well, although this bumps the prices up. I had a delicious warm goat's cheese salad and a delightful beef fillet in morilles mushrooms for 43€. There was a very decent wine list (local Jura and national) at fairly sensible prices. Service was quick and friendly. To be recommended. I would just like to have seen more choice available on the menus.
