Rude reception staff , breakfast was in a brown paper bag no milk for self serve coffee just powder milk The room was ok the internet ok Parking was good I would recommend staying due to the argumentative staff
We ate here as we were staying the hotel. We have eaten here before when it was simple pub grub and we enjoyed it. We knew it had changed hands and is now a Chinese which we were looking forward to. We ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to drink but they were out so we had to have a Chardonnay instead. To eat we ordered pancake rolls and salt pepper chicken wings from the appetiser menu, and 2 kung pao chicken and rice for main course. We were a little taken back when, just a few minutes later, 1 kung pao chicken and rice was placed in front of us. We asked what was going on as we hadn 't had our appetisers yet and the response was the chefs sent it as it was ready! So we asked for another plate so we could share the food, and we were presented with a plastic plate!!. The kung pao was exceptional and we had just had a couple of mouthfuls each when the 2 appetisers were placed in front of us. The appetisers were also exceptional. Unfortunately we had to send the second kung pao back as it was so salty it was totally inedible and we refused to pay for it. When we returned to our hotel room we discovered that we had been charged for a merlot rather than a chardonnay overcharged by $10. We telephoned the restaurant and told them and the response was that the till didn 't have a button for chardonnay so they just pressed merlot instead. They did make amends by sending $10 cash to our room. They need to amend the menu to say sides rather than appetisers if the food is going out at the same time, ensure that the food does go at the same time and ensure that the customers are charged correctly. A real shame as 3 of our 4 dishes were truly exceptional.
