Bidra med feedbackI've been thinking about staying here for a long time and I finally made it this year. The location is great. I have great photos from my hotel room to the lake overnight. My room was very comfortable and had good views. The food was good and delicious. If you are travelling by train and have luggage, you should get off in Bernina Diavolezza and get the bus. I believe this is the recommendation for winter if the way down to the station can be inappropriate by snow, but I would recommend it anyway. Now I know how the transport works, I want to go back in winter.
Just stop a quick drink here during a winter hike in the area, but it was a great experience. The mainly Italian staff was lovely, chatting and super friendly. And sipping an aperol splash or a cappuccino with the backdrop of the glaciers is an absolute spirit of relaxing feeling.
We had 22 people reserved while we stayed with the Swiss Alfa Romeo Oldtimer Club for lunch. The cook recommended as a starter a plate of Poschiavo specialties per table and individual choice of the main course. The starter made with home bread was so...rich that we could finish the main dish harddy, that was also very delicious. I can only recommend for individuals and clubs to stop at this sensual location on the Bernina Pass and enjoy the excellent, inexpensive food.
A good place to stay if you aren't expecting any frills. The staff were friendly and the room and shared bathroom very clean. The restaurant provides good food, though the included breakfast was a bit basic. I'd advise contacting the hotel before arriving in winter...if you are coming by train as they only way to walk from the train station is across a deep snowy hill, certainly not something to do after dark. The hotel may be able to pick you up if contacted in advance.
Simple accomodation, dont miss the trip to Sasal Mason, Alp Grum, Lei Nair and new trail to Forcola Livigno.
