A éviter
We visited the bar first; it was clean and tidy with 70’s furnishings. The beer was good, but had the usual mousse problem; the head was almost the same volume as the beer. The dining room is well furnished and comfortable with crisp white linen... at the tables and sparkling glasses. We ordered the set Menu du Jour, which is 17€60 and includes a 1⁄4 wine. It was fresh and well presented with a thin mayonnaise dressing and egg. The few shrimps were the tiny, tasteless variety that was normally used in cheap curries. The lardons were smoked and delicious. The entrée, a Tarte Paysan Quiche served with a small puddle of Béchamel sauce. It was lukewarm; Jane would have preferred it hot. The main course was a warm escalope of reformed, baked calves served with warm spaghetti in a tomato sauce a small salad leaf. It does not have much taste would have been better suited for a children's menu. The house red was not drinkable; it was so at the end of his life, probably fine to order during the summer season if it were fresh. We ordered half a bottle of Marcillac, which was good, but our bill increased by 11€. A selection of cheese or desert was offered to us at the end. We both chose a selection from the cheese board. The waiter was well informed to recommend local specialties. The Roquefort was perfect; the other cheeses were a bit dry. The service was professional and accommodating. We had coffee in the bar that was delicious. Account without our aperitifs and the tip was 48€80. We will try somewhere else when we visit Pont de Salars.
