Tavern on Turton - POINT TURTON

Totally Disappointing. Oysters to start were average. Beef schnitzel was tougher than shoe leather, the mushroom sauce made it barely edible. The grilled fish was nice though but portion was way too small. 90 dollars for two pub meals and average oysters are indicative of a business that knows they have a captive audience and don’t care.

We have been here many times over the years and this was one of the worst meals I’ve had anywhere. I ordered the crumbed garfish I’m not sure it was even Garfish. The oil clearly hadn’t been changed in a very long time.Two of My friends had the schnitzel which was tasteless the other had the Lamb Shank special which was $30 only had 1 shank. When I mentioned the poor experience to the manager she told me it was the apprentice cooking. New managers and I won’t be returning!

No complaints here with our Saturday lunch. Had the Jumbo burger and the SP squid with a couple of drinks. Fast service, burger was large and tasty, squid cooked perfectly with amazing views over the bay. Seems from the other reviews, to avoid the crowds maybe come for lunch. Would definitely return when we are back in the area

A group of about 100 of us on motor bikes stopped for morning tea today. Sunday. One very unfortunate person on deck. I can only assume that the advanced warning was not passed down to the person working. By the time she had started to make coffees some were ready to move off to resume our tour. Very nice coffee but very poor communication resulting in very poor service. As for the help that eventually turned up; unshaven, dirty t shirts, shorts and thongs is NOT acceptable for front of house work very bad image. If this is an example of the new management owner it will be on the market again soon.

Travelled 60 km round trip last Thursday 5th Jan for lunch. Two of my Family ordered KG Whiting. When the meal came out there was no distinctive V cut on the KG fillets. I tried a small piece but found it to be bland and tasteless. Spoke to the manager who said they only have Garfish Whiting ? i catch a lot of KG Whiting and know what it tastes like. They say to Support Local but at 32 per meal and spending around 150 for the three of us very disappointed . Joe.
