Bidra med feedbackWe visited here today and we can say definitely not disappointed. We had a set menu and the food was out of this world. The owner was very friendly and attentive. Explained all of the dishes for us which was a great help. For 3...of us and 3 courses and little extras in between courtesy of the owner with coffee €90.00 excellent for 3 of us. Would recommend to any one.
How far would you cycle to enjoy a good dinner? How about 350k? Last year we found this restaurant during a cycle tour of Brittany. Brittany is a big place and this year we could have gone anywhere but we made sure that this year's...tour took us past Le Carre Saint Michel. Fred is a great host, creating a wonderful atmosphere of bonhomie. And the food is just stunning. A delightful amuse bouche arrived followed by our starters. Two of us had soup de poisson which was excellent. My husband had a selection of cured fish all delicious. My daughter had moules et frites for a main course which she said was amazing. I had an extraordinary fish stew served with sauerkraut and I can only describe as out of this world. Our friend had confit of duck superb and my husband had an excellent fillet of fish in a sumptuous cream sauce. All of this was rounded off with the creme brûlée that last year my husband said was almost the best he had ever had (he has a very high bar) and this year it was also right up there. Our friend had a little chocolate pot. Overall the meal was, once again, a delight in every way. I'd cycle a thousand miles to come back again.
Good place for either crepes or a much larger meal. We had mussels and they were good. Friendly staff with very good English to support our limited French
So here we are, cycle touring through Brittany. It's tiring, we're scruffy and a bit smelly, but having fun. It's our fifteenth wedding anniversary so we look around for a restaurant. There's not a huge choice where we're staying but there's an interesting place at...the end of the road, near the beach. The menu looks pretty good. So we give it a go. WOW WOW WOW!!! Lucky we went early! We turned up when it opened at 7 and I think the host Fred (a Gerard Butler look alike) took pity on us and seated us despite having a full list of reservations for later on. Between our broken French and Fred's rather good English, we managed to order and he talked us into rather a splendid Bordeaux rose. The set menu for 19 euro looked interesting. From this menu, two of us ordered soup de pecheur as a starter, and it was excellent. My husband had a smoked salmon starter with delicious morsels of different sauces. It was delightfully presented. It is unfortunate that, by this point in our trip, i had broken my iphone so couldn't take any photos. My daughter had a galette with potato and cheese which she reported was delicious. A delightful amusee bouche of tomato juice arrived before our main courses. My husband and I had the Marmite and our friend had a chicken in a cream sauce. These were all excellent and in hearty portions. By the time the main courses showed up, the place was heaving. My husband had one of the best creme brulees he's every had (second only to one he had in 2003 which has lived long in the memory). I also ordered creme brulee but my daughter scoffed the lot. Meanwhile our friend had a magnificent chocolate mousse. The service was great from Fred and his team who were very accommodating of our bad French. This really is one of the best meals I've ever had, and I like to think I have pretty high standards. On a perfect evening, the ambience was super, the staff were lovely and the food and wine were outstanding. I might actually come back to Brittany just to eat in this restaurant: it really was that good. Just go here.
