Sol Barbacán - Playa del singles

We (3) had a 2 week holiday in June. We had a 2 bed bungalow, which was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The whole complex was very clean. All the staff (Reception, bars, pool and cleaners) are very friendly and helpful I would also like to give a special shout out to Enrique and Manuel who serviced the bar at night and Nicolette/Sita who was mainly at the pool bar. We didn't use the Restaurant as there were so many other food options around. The wifi signal in the rooms and around the pool was good. I have no negative comments only positive and we will return.

I loved everything about this hotel: spacious en-suites/ apartments very well equipped and clean. Pools are super clean and services exceeded my expectations. Walking distance to an amazing beach (playa del ingles). Many shops and restaurants around, which is extremely convenient. I truly think of coming back and I will definitely go to the same hotel!!! I spent my bday to this hotel and they even brought a bottle of champagne and crisps to my room as a gift. The ladies at the reception are extremely friendly and helpful. I also appreciated their care for animals! cannot wait to go back ! Honestly, if you plan to have your holidays in Gran Canaria and you are not sure which hotel to chose, be assured Sol barbacan won’t disappoint. Thanks so much for an incredible stay!

We stayed at Sol Barbacan with our three children during the Easter holidays. We were impressed from the moment we arrived with the tasteful decor and welcoming staff. We were in one of the bungalows which was perfect for our family, the patio and roof terrace were a real luxury. The food at the hotel was ok, but could have been better. Some evenings we avoided the meat as it didn’t appear to be thoroughly cooked. More variety would have also been nice. I found it really disappointing that we had to pay for water with our evening meals when it was freely accessible in the mornings with breakfast. We could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel and the grounds were kept really tidy. A big shout out to ‘Luca’ who for my children made their holiday. If we had been out the morning, they couldn’t wait to get back to the pool to see him and play games. This for us was the best part of the holiday and the main reason we would come back. Evening entertainment was limited compared to other hotels we had stayed in. For my children aged 12, 11, and 8 there really wasn’t anything aimed at their age. From 9pm there was a band of live music but again really not geared up for families, more older couples. It would have been nice to of had a comedy night, bingo, or just some funny games. The hotel was in a good location with lots of shall shops and restaurants around. We walked to the beach several times where there are endless shops, bars and restaurants. Probably a 15minute walk but all pathed and easy access. The pools were clean, warm and just generally well kept. I really liked the fact you weren’t allowed to put towels out in the morning, this is a bug bear of mine so was grateful the hotel were strict and ensured people weren’t reserving sun beds before the pools opened. It was great that the pools were lifeguarded, I didn’t worry if the children ran down to another pool as I knew they would be safe. The only downside was the pools did not open until 10am and closed at 6pm personally I think they should open earlier and close later. Overall we did have a lovely holiday and would highly recommend the hotel. Just a few pieces of constructive feedback which I am sure will be well received.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sol Barbacan. We stayed in a bungalow which was really spacious, the gardens kept immaculate, and the staff so friendly and helpful. Meals were just right for quality and choice.

Fabulous hotel would highly recommend…… we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment lots of space, lovely bathroom with walk in shower. Balcony was very big over looking the pool. Grounds pool areas were immaculate. We were self catering but ate at the pool bars food was very good. Nice walk down to the front beach. Thanks to the lovely receptionist, housekeepers, waiters everyone that made our stay 1st class Oh not forgetting the lovely kitty ‍
