Adopted by the Commission on 13July. ya varias veces ha comido en el restaurante y la carne siempre ha sido awaitacular y nunca...falla como hoy. los acompañamientos muy ricos, la papa y verdura enparrillada excelentes. this was our first time with over and the service was great. but the flesh was disappointing. we clicked on the optionjuicyè instead of well done, but it came over well done, hard, tones of fiber and burned. in the past we have often eaten there and the meat was always excellent. the side that came were good French pommes and grilled vegetables.
We do not order steaks because we can get into the usa big steaks. the service and eating were excellent. we had empanadas, salat and ribeye. all were very good. the steak was prepared for the correct temperature. calm atmosphere. great service. it was. everything absolutely spectacular.
I drive daily from la fonda argentina to and from the work and wanted to go one already. biiiig mistake. too much money for an empanada or steak, eating cold and service is some of the worst in playa del carmen. (only exaggerated by mu burger house.) will never go back, not in playa not everywhere.
I typically don 't give out bad reviews... i am a small business owner myself so i prefer if my own customers would call me and ask me to remedy a situation... which i did. So now here is how i was treated. Service overall was fine until the end when i asked for my steak to go. I wasn 't very hungry, so i asked for the rest to go. We also asked for our guacamole to go too. I took the box home only to discover that they did not put my steak in, and now i 'm left with just a pile of day old guacamole. I called and spoke to the manager because i was clear about asking for both items to go and i clearly remember the waiter nodding yes when i asked para llavar . The manager said that there was nothing he could do. That they had thrown away my tiny little piece of meat ... aka half a steak. I told him i am a local and i live here, isnt there something they can do being that it was their mistake? No sorry, there 's nothing i can do . True customer service would have said, yes, come on in and we will replace your steak for you... you know i would have ordered more food too... they would have repeat sales and a better review. I 'm done with this place. Treat your customers better.
Fonda Argentina is for those of you who are looking for a real Argentinian-style steakhouse. The restaurant is conveniently located on the Cancun – Tulum Federal Highway north of Playa del Carmen, on the outskirts of town. The restaurant itself is fairly plain inside. Seating...is ample and comfortable. Typically large TV screens are show an assortment of sport channels. Staff are attentive and some speak some English. A good choice of starters is any one of their “empanadas”, folded dough baked with a choice of stuffing that includes cheese, pepper strips, corn and ground beef. All of these are delicious. The spinach and cranberry salad has thinly sliced apple, goat’s cheese and caramelized nuts. It is soooo good. A solid favorite for main course is the “arrachera” (hanger steak or butcher's steak, a cut of beef steak prized for its flavor and tenderness). All in all very good value for money without all frills that you would expect from a restaurant on the 5th Avenue of Playa del Carmen.
