Mi Dia From Scratch - Plano

I stopped at Mi Dia in Plano last night with a friend of mine. I have been several times over the years but I guess have never reviewed them. The restaurant is located off of the North Dallas tollway. The entrance is rustic and the doors are heavy and unique. Walking into the restaurant you are instantly welcomed with the beautiful aesthetic. The bar is one of the focal points of the restaurant and has a circular bar top with a prime view of the kitchen. I like the textured tile. The seating throughout the restaurant is well appointed, the bench seats are cushy and suck you in. I like the privacy screens that they used around the restaurant to create some division. Stacked stone on the walls give a nice texture. The patio overlooks a fountain and has a nice ambiance. A lot of the Craft cocktails are centered around tequila which I 'm not a huge fan of but my friend certainly is. She tried several drinks and enjoyed them all but the one we got a kick out of was when hell freezes over . It is a bubbling concoction that has a really nice spice profile and is served in a martini glass, the dry ice bubbled and fogged for quite a while. It was garnished with a spicy salted rim and a cucumber. Really fun. There were so many fabulous options on the menu it was really hard for us to decide! We had elote for an appetizer and shared the carne asada and the salmon. The carne asada was perfectly cooked and was served with sauteed onions, rice and borracho beans. I did feel like it was missing one other item of substance, perhaps peppers or small potatoes would have been a nice mix with the onions. The salmon had a delightful flavor and with paired with a mango puree and a shredded cucumber top. Both really flavorful. Our server was friendly and had great follow-up, she did a great job. Even though the dessert menu looked decadent and amazing, we had both eaten so much that we couldn 't have managed a dessert if we tried. Wonderful experience, I love this restaurant and will certainly be back in the future! ?????

Mi Dia from Scratch is a contemporary spin on traditional Latin inspired food. What I appreciate most is the adequate portions of food that leave you with a Texas-size fulfilling taste in your mouth and stomach. The ambience can be seen as romantic with the rustic and industrial decor. If you love the Mexican cuisine you?ll love Mi Dia From Scratch. Perfect for a casual date or Happy Hour!

11/20/21-This a great restaurant for a fun date night. We started with some margaritas using house infused tequilas. Then we satisfied our curiosity with an infused tequila flight. The dinner plates were beautiful and delicious! Our waitress, Riley, was enthusiastic and we enjoyed chatting with her. It?s always a good sign when the employees love where they work! We had made late reservations, around 9:00 pm, and arrived via Uber. It was a really good time

Fun. Delicious. Fairly priced . Probably my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Metroplex! We loved the great atmosphere and superb customer service. Though I didn't partake, the mixed drinks looked sensational. There are so many interesting and yummy choices on the menu but I recommend that you go for the mixed fajitas. Excellent place for a light date or to hang with family and friends. Two main dishes and a soda was $42.

This was my second time at Mi Día and it was a great experience. The staff are lovely and very attentive to customers. I got the Oaxaca Stacked Enchiladas and my mom got the Hatch Tacos. I got chicken for the enchiladas instead of beef and the chicken was tender and tasty. I love the salsa here, full of flavor and just the right amount of spice. Would definitely recommend!
