Bidra med feedbackFantastic dining experience! We were in town for an event and seeking a Saturday night dinner without a long wait, and we were promptly seated. We were delighted with the food. My husband's salmon was perfectly cooked, and he really enjoyed the cream sauce. As for me, I usually dislike seafood, so I planned on ordering the grilled chicken. However, I accidentally received the blackened chicken instead. Although I wasn't a fan of it at first, I decided to give it a try since it looked different from what I had experienced before. I'm so glad I did—it was phenomenal and packed with flavor (and had a nice kick, too)! The waitstaff was also very friendly.
This restaurant is decent overall. I ordered the fried fish combo, which included shrimp, catfish, and tilapia, along with a side of grilled vegetables and hush puppies. The fish was beautifully fried with the perfect crunch, and their tartar sauce is exceptional. While the fish itself was tasty, I found the shrimp to be quite small, and the rice lacked flavor. On the positive side, the hush puppies were excellent, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. They may have some areas for improvement, but their delicious fish makes up for it. I recommend giving it a try; the food is tasty, but just be cautious when ordering the shrimp to avoid disappointment.
Next, I had a house salad, which was a standard mix of lettuce, cabbage, carrots, and a tomato wedge. Everything was incredibly fresh and crisp, which is what you'd expect. However, the highlight was the dressing—all their salad dressings are made in-house. I sampled two because I couldn't choose. The first was an artichoke Italian dressing, which was quite good, with its flavors coming through nicely. However, since it was made with green olives—rather than black, which I prefer—I didn't put it on my salad since I'm not a fan of green olives outside of a martini. The second dressing, the spicy thousand island, was simply outstanding—I could probably drink it straight from a gravy boat! I also tried some of my wife's Caesar salad, which I found to be just okay. However, I was pleased that the croutons stayed crunchy even after being dressed, and they were not too dry, making them easy to enjoy. For our entrees, we ordered the fishmonger ponchartrain and cedar plank salmon. I had previously enjoyed the ponchartrain and knew it was excellent, but I was truly amazed by the salmon, especially since I'm not typically a salmon lover.
