Pelegrino's Pizza Pasta - Pittsburgh

Finally, a SATISFACTORY PIZZERIA in Pittsburgh! It?s very difficult to find pizza in this town, they?re either too greasy, horrible cheese and tomato sauce, or factory made dough or those terrible franchises. It?s not quite the Italian pizza butthey embrace the original Neopolitan spirit of the pizza, i.e. put in as much topping as you like!!! Choose any of their pizzaand then modify it. My recommendation: thin crust, pesto sauce, meat lovers with extra meatballs, anchovies, mushrooms, onionsand fresh mozzarella (no other cheese). Add in crispy chicken wings, plain so you can use you own dipping sauce. Also a Greeksalad. I am not convinced on their pastas, they?re all tomato-base and not sure if pasta is store-made. Hence, the fourstars. They have an open-view kitchen, with a nicely kept dining area (though it was closed when I visited last).

This was my first time ordering here. The pizza was delicious, and the service was fast and friendly!

Delicious! The sauce and the crust stand out and the cheese is real. The pepperoni rolls were also excellent. Don't let the disheveled, uh, dining area scare you off. Eating there would be weird so choose take out or delivery.

My Father is thrilled with the food, and he's picky! He said the delivery service is exceptional and always on time and has never had a bad meal.

The food is pretty good for the price. Online ordering system is good but prepared when picking it up they'll be late. At least 50% of the time my orders are ready 5-10 minutes after the pick up time they gave me. It's not a huge deal but it is annoying.
