Bidra med feedbackChili was absolutely delicious and such a large portion, no leftovers, finished till the last spoonfull! Also shared the Pastrami sandwich, and the meat was piled high with no fatty pieces. Perfectly seasoned, I would come back for the same item! Also served with tasty fries! Owners were friendly, born and raised in the burgh! They'll not disappoint. Limited seating due to it being an older bar, we found a table in the back. No frills and price was amazing!
If you’re Black or PoC I wouldn’t go here. They’ll ignore you or make you wait while they walk around complaining audibly that you’re there. There’s other places that serve the same thing so no love lost.
I am from out of town. And I went there and I felt like it was a racist establishment. The bartenders are rude and practically ignored me. My advice is dont spend your money there.
At this place, I had experienced racism. And according to some other comments and reviews, I'm not the only one who has experienced this. It was very uncomfortable and heartbreaking.
I am not qualified to counter any opinions offered by the great Guy Fieri. At the end of the day, it’s a dive bar. It’s maybe the diviest dive bar in a neighborhood famed for dive bars. That’s an endearing quality. You know exactly what you’re gonna get. The food isn’t gonna shatter your expectations nor your wallet. It’s frequently fried and it fills. The staff is exceptionally nice. They do good work and are part of the reason many people keep coming back. The most recent visit (June 2024) was marred by a shocking amount of flies. It’s a dive bar in summer so there’s a certain expectation, but this specific visit beat that by a wide margin. There were flies at the bar, flies going after the beer, flies going after the food, flies going after the condiments. It was tough to keep them away. I understand this is a temporary problem if they address it. It may already have been fixed. I don’t dislike this place because of that. I think it’s a classic dive of the deepest depth and should be acknowledged as one of the classics despite a small grievance.
