The Country Kitchen At Callaway Gardens

09/01/24 was suppose to be the Hot air balloon and glow show with fire works. Let me just say it was nothing of the sort. The ballon rides started at 4-8pm. I got there at 4pm and was told it was too hot to go up come back at 6pm mind you there was no ballon in sight. I called the Callway help desk and asked were all events still on and I was advised they were. So my family decided to stay. The tether rides never happened today despite us getting there on time before any weather issues. We stayed that night for the glow balloons that were supposed to be at 8:30pm. They never happened either, they decided to blaze fire sticks on the beach and do 8 minutes of fireworks. Not once was it communicated with the visitors that the show wouldn’t happen or that the rides wouldn’t either. This was the worst experience I have ever had here!!

Very charming and rustic. Great view of Callaway. The biscuits and cornbread muffins were great, with the homemade jam. Really enjoyed the fried green tomato sandwich. Burger was a little overcooked. Service was great. Overall, I'll come back.

I recently dined at the Calloway Gardens Country Kitchen and was overall pleased with the experience. One of the standout features of this restaurant is the breathtaking view. Whether you're there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the scenery adds a special ambiance that really enhances the overall experience. The location is ideal, especially if you’re visiting Calloway Gardens or FDR State Park. It’s the perfect spot to grab a bite without venturing far from these attractions. However, I did notice that the floors were a bit sticky, which was a slight drawback in an otherwise great experience. It’s a minor issue, but one that could be easily addressed to improve the overall cleanliness and comfort of the restaurant. Overall, I’d definitely recommend the Calloway Gardens Country Kitchen for its great food, wonderful service, and amazing views. Just a little more attention to the floors, and it would be perfect!
