Restaurant On The Knoll - Picton

While the restaurant is convenient because of its location to the accommodations, it does lack somewhat in being able to serve a HOT meal. Every meal that I had there was cold. Very disappointing in that way. Most of the servers were very good but I did have one for supper who would be better of cleaning rooms as her attitude and service were really bad. When she remembered to come back to our table, well after we were finished, and realized that she had forgotten something that went with the meal, she said "oh well, you don't need the extra calories anyway". That was rude in my opinion. No apology from her for forgetting. No adjustment to the bill. Poor, poor service.

We have been to this restaurant quite a few times over the many years we have been cottage owners in the County. Each time we go it seems increasingly worn out and the food has been more disappointing each time. Nothing tastes fresh or housemade. This time we had salads, wings and fries. Wings tasted like they came from a box and the fries were frozen. The salad was the bagged iceberg type with hard packaged croutons. Service was very slow as well. This location is a jewel, it's too bad the resort isn't better maintained. We won't return.

We were a couple from Trenton, Ontario, about one hour drive from this restaurant. We got there at about 2:15pm for late lunch. We were turned away at the door by a frazzled hostess. We were told they were full, I questioned that as all the tables inside the restaurant were empty, they had about 10 patio tables full. She then said they didn't have staff to service the tables as everybody wanted the long weekend off. She said we could come back in about and hour when the next shift started. There were about four other couples also turned away some from Belleville. Make sure if you go to call first. We were very disappointed.

Restaurant is located within the Isisah Tubs resort. We weren't staying at the resort but drove out for dinner to enjoy the sandbanks view from the restaurant. The beachside patio would have been amazing but it was just too windy to enjoy a meal outdoors. We dined in the spacy and airy pub area that provided the same gorgeous sunset by beach view and experience. Menu has lotof pub grub choices and food was good. Service was slower with a few servers but we weren't in a hurry.

We were in Picton for 5 days and had 2 lunches here with 2 different sets of friends. The food was good pub food- we had wraps and burgers. Good service and very good portions!! Great view of the West Lake and the dunes of the Sandbanks. There is a patio but we chose not to sit out both times. We sat in the bar area and it had a good pub atmosphere. There is also a restaurant if you prefer.
