No. 4 - Pickering

After reading so many positive reviews, we decided to try out Spice 4 U and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is spacious and well-lit, with a variety of table sizes and a cozy area with sofas for waiting on takeout orders. Both the dine-in and takeout services were quite busy on a Sunday evening, which is always a good sign. After browsing through the extensive menu, we settled on a Karahi Shashlik and saag chicken main, deciding to skip the starters. This was a wise choice as the portions were enormous! Our meal started off with a selection of poppadoms accompanied by various sides like mango chutney and lime pickle. The main dishes arrived in Tandoor bowls, along with generously-sized portions of rice and naan/paratha. There was easily enough food for three or four people, not just two! Everything was delicious, and despite our best efforts, we couldn't finish it all. The prices were very reasonable, even for the specials priced around £6-10, and the well-stocked bar with Cobra on draft was a nice addition to a great meal.

The food at this restaurant is exceptional, with some delightful options on the menu. We have been dining here for years and have never been let down, whether dining in or getting takeout. The staff are incredibly friendly and willing to accommodate any request. Don't hesitate to give it a try when you're in town - you won't be disappointed.

We absolutely adore this restaurant. The menu sets itself apart from typical Indian menus by offering a wide variety of interesting and unique dishes, with traditional favorites like Tikkas, Biryanis, and Baltis tucked away in a corner. It's almost as if the owners are encouraging customers to try something different. Once you venture out of your comfort zone, you will be delighted with the original and delicious Indian cuisine. The service is friendly and efficient, and the prices are very reasonable. Although we have only ordered takeout, the main restaurant's decor appears to be perfectly acceptable. Overall, this is a fantastic little gem of a restaurant that we highly recommend.

Very friendly and personable business/restaurant. Great food and even better staff. Also a great place for a large group to visit as they have tables to accommodate all group sizes.
