Momma’s Soul Fish Chicken - Phoenix

I was worry at first because Im from Texas and our food taste very different. We love Soul Food but what we have encountered in the AZ is the most tasteless food SOULLESS food ever!!! But this place is AMAZING!!!! The food is delicious!

Greens NOT WELL seasoned as reviews deceived me to believe taste like frozen/canned vs fresh. Yams definitely canned, mushy too sweet. Dry Momma apos;s Dressing with minimal seasonings, we add bell peppers onions (finely chopped) sage poultry season and broth or drippings from meat!!! Mac and cheese needs MORE cheese or an additional cheese added. Just look at the picture of the cake I ordered!!! Pieces scraps of what they had left. SHAME UNPROFESSIONAL First last time here. Wasted $40 Momma’s Famous Shrimps too salty just Buffalo sauce, nothing special. Momma’s Cornbread not homemade either. Why I apos;ve NEVER patronized "SOUL FOOD" establishments here in AZ. I apos;m an excellent cook of SOUL FOOD, very particular a hard critic of those that claim to be a down home SOUL FOOD cook

Im from the south and Ive been wanting some just southern comfort. I started odering the catfish (good as idk what! . I promise I order every other week so I dont feel bad giving all my money away. Lol but I wont be seeing family for the holidays and ordered chicken, dreesing, potato salad (my favorite , and I always order a Carmel cake. Sooooo good! When I tell you Im a lifelong customer as long as I live near their location. They might as well save my orders. Lol

Love the flavor of the Mommas Filets Strip. i have been a repeat customer since i found on DoorDash. mac and cheese has really good flavor everything feels very familiar and i love that. only critique, the quantity of the sides are not equal to the price did not care for Mommas Dressing

The catfish nuggets, shrimp and mac and cheese were delicious. Shrimp were not over cooked. Catfish was seasoned well and crunchy. Mac and cheese was flavorful. Will definitely be eating here again.
