Bidra med feedbackLet me tell you, this is my third time coming, the place from the outside doesn't look like the great restaurant that actually is, a hidden gem, that's why I like it so much, great Sonoran ? style food is made in here, great flavor, great prices and perfect service, Sonora is well known I México for it's great beef and their beautiful women and it's the same here, highly recommended.
I found the food authentic and prepared nicely. Spice was right and service quick. I will be back.
Shrimp tostada was delicious. Guacamole dip was the bomb. Horchata as well.
Pay at register, tip in jar. The front staff have more than 11 children among them. Consider generous and mercuful tipping in this family-owned and operated business. You must put up with the bones of my life brfore arriving at the meat of this review.I am staying put in this busy reality with it 's door sensor constantly ringing as couples and families arrive and leave, the joyous Mexican music charges from the speakers full of life 's lyrics and the clatter of kitchen dishes and swirling conversation fill the house.I 'm thinking of my mom and others today. I 'm so thankful Mom was the only Gabacha at Herrick Avenue School Parent Teacher Association introducing herself to Guadalupe Herrera, setting the foundation for a 70 year sisterhood. I am grateful to that son of Italian immigrants, WWII vet and elementary school teacher Al Carollo who understood immigrants and planted my seeds in the Spanish language. I take that back. My Mom and Ysabel Alicia Kemper 's Mexican mom did that when I was 4. These things separated me a little bid from my Grandfather 's rabid racism and my father 's rabies vaccinated racism. If I blindly walked the walk of my forebears I 'd of missed so much of the spice and glory of life among all humankind. You 're likely a newcomer to AZ. The Yaqui are one if the Indigenous tribes of the state of Sonora Mexico. The Mexican Army has been ruthless in exterminating Indigenous people. And Indigenous women are often the prey of men wherever they live. The Pascua Yaqui south of Tucson are what 's called a Federally Recognized Tribe. Congress recognized them as native to the region of the 1853 Gadsden Purchase railroad corredor between Texas and Yuma AZ. They work with the Department of Interior snd other Federal agencies building life in 21st century USA.Guadalupe near Tempe is a Section of Succor. A section is a square mile, 640 acres of land surveyed by the Department of Interior 's General Land Office after Arizona became United States Territory in 1846.Mexico 's Catholic Church appealed to Territorial political and religious leaders to provide some land for Mexico 's Yaqui people. They were being ethnically cleansed from Sonora. You go to Rocky Point and you are in traditional Yaqui territory. Mexico 's Yaqui people were granted this 640 acres to start new without fear of state-sanctioned extermination. It 's an old 640 acre Yaqui colony on its own in the USA.Sunday. March 19, 2023 I decided to visit El Yaqui Restaurant. I tried the locked south door, went to the eastern open door, walking into a loud, delicious place loaded with families and couples all talking, backed up by Cumbia music. As mentioned, the entry bell rang off the hook.Chips and Salsa arrived. The chips were garnished with refried beans and Cotija cheese, the salsa a little hot. All delicious.I ordered Huevos Rancheros with corn tortillas, coffee and water. The medium thick tortillas are made in the kitchen. therefore the chips are homemade too. Many non-European people are lactose intolerant. Powdered coffee creamer. Read about the palm oil, cirn syrup solids, silicon dioxide, etc on the label.Bottled water only, just like Sonoran restaurants.Salsa in squeeze bottles came in red Habanero and Green jalapeno flavors. The Huevos Ranchero were delicious. Thete were plenty of tortillas in the tortilla keeper so I could clean up everything from my plate like a good boy after making breakfast tacos from quarterd tortillas like Lou Morones taught me in 1969.I texted my family, This is a GREAT place for breakfast. We 'll be back.Thank you Mom.
We went when they weren't busy so we had no wait time. The server was nice. We LOVED every bit of their food.Kid-friendliness: They have kids menu. And kids drinks. Apple juice or orange juice
