Great food and much of it, they don't let a starving

Friendly waiting staff, our needs for a sunny, quiet table and a little more time about our meal. we arranged to meet at the market tavern because it is highly recommended and convenient to 30th street station. an additional plus-the crab cakes were fantastic, a real tasty bite for an expat of the delmarva half island that now lives in nyc.

Saturday midday hostess on the weekend weekend offers zero response (verbal or express) to a courtesy greeting of two males entering with a reservation, showed us on the worse/side table on the floor (no choice), and will mark it as "no show" on purpose. friendly and professional server has fed us back to the cute bench table, the kitchen shares our fish chips professionally and without request. better ambience/atmosphere than years past. hostess must be retrained or go on the FOH floor.

The food is excellent and plentiful—you won't leave hungry!

We chose to meet at the Market Tavern because it comes highly recommended and is conveniently located near 30th Street Station. One standout aspect of our visit was the fantastic crab cakes, which were a delightful treat for someone like me, an expat from the Delmarva Peninsula now living in NYC.
