Chafe's Landing

The food here is decent but a bit bland. We had to add quite a bit of salt to the food but other than that, our experience was pretty good. Our server was helpful and patient with us and wait times were fairly short seeing how busy the restaurant was.

Cod Fish and Chips were fantastic. Light batter and Flaky Cod. Must try! Our server Morgan was personable and all smiles. Great service considering overwhelming group of 23 without a reservation. Cod is caught fresh daily by owner Mr Chafe. They do Recommended to book In Advance due to consistent tour groups. (Only restaurant in Petty Harbour) Washrooms were clean and they have a baby change table for patrons.

Excellent fish and chips….lightly battered and cooked to perfection. Snow crab roll was so fresh and sweet fresh crab…delicious. So glad we went for lunch. The restaurant was packed with locals within 10 mins of it opening ….always a good sign of great food. Service was spot on….

Best fish ever! I’ve been trying to come here for the past four years and I am so happy to have finally made it! The location in Petty Harbour is amazing. The cod cake as a starter was lovely! A little dry in texture but obviously very fresh. We also got the calamari, which was also so fresh and delicious! The fish was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The cod just fell into perfect pieces, it was amazing! The only thing that could make it any better would be improving the “chips”! The fries were average, if not, almost bad. I’m sure by just upping the fry game this establishment could never get a rating lower than a 4! Bob Taylor was performing and we couldn’t have asked for better! He really made our meal extra special, touching our hearts with a beautiful Newfoundland sound!

The Atmosphere and Service in this Restaurant in a very cute town after we visited Cape Spear was a pleasant surprise. The food was very good and the place was full of happy customers enjoying it all. I had a tasty seafood chowder and my husband had a loaded burger in between two grilled cheese bread and delicious fries, plenty to share.
