Don’t bother with the Station.Having snapped our water outlet pipe coming through the 150km dirt Mereenie Way and losing all our water, the reception staff were dismissive, rude and completely unhelpful. They just kept insisting that we are told to fill our tanks before we came. Not helpful when you've just lost it all. When I asked if there was somewhere to fill when we repaired the damage they had no idea. They have to be able to provide at least one water source for the price.Do yourself a favour like we did and be 36km closer to the Canyon where there's water and you are looking out toward the rocks at sunset! Choose the Kings Canyon Resort
We stayed at the Mort Conway camp, located 2.5 km from the road. There were no signs to guide us, just a small traffic cone marking the entrance that we almost missed. Luckily, we had a medium-sized vehicle, which helped us navigate the muddy terrain, although we ended up sliding through it and getting everything soaked and dirty. To make matters worse, it rained and there were no covered pathways from the parking lot to our room. We ended up soaked and muddy, unable to enjoy our clean accommodations. Once we finally settled in, unpacked, and cleaned off the mud, we were met with swarms of mosquitoes that made the rest of our stay uncomfortable until we packed up and left our car the next morning. I recommend avoiding this place during the wet season unless you have no other options.
Fantastic stop for a quick refuel! The ambiance is lovely, and the food is excellent. Highly recommend visiting this spot!
I stayed at the glamping sites and found the beds to be very comfortable, although the pillows were a bit too firm for my liking. The air conditioning worked well, which was especially nice on a hot 32° day. The breakfast buffet was included, and I would definitely stay there again.
