Railway Hotel/Motel - Peterborough

I recently returned to Peterborough and visited the Railway Hotel for dinner. Unfortunately, there have been a lot of changes at the restaurant with many of the staff, including the excellent chef and bar staff, no longer there. I ordered the Thai Green Curry with rice, but it was disappointing. The dish lacked the usual spicy curry flavor, the meat was cold, and the rice was hard as concrete. Despite the poor quality of the meal, I chose not to complain as I was hungry. I hope that the restaurant can bounce back and introduce some new and exciting dishes in the near future.

We tried the chicken carving, calamari carving, and shrimp crumble. It was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit - don't miss out on this experience.

While playing the poker machines, there were frequent interruptions, but when I tried to notify the bartender, Lucy, I was met with a rude response. Eventually, the issue was resolved but the negative experience prompted us to leave. Despite spending money at the pub, we will not be returning.

Great hotel, friendly staff, really willing to please, best chicken carving, immaculate clean room and bathroom in the original hotel, the railway hotel is much quieter than in its blossom, but our group of six very appreciated the warm hospitality that of. the current owners.

My wife and I popped in for lunch. There is a menu of typical pub grub. I ordered bangers and mash and my wife roast beef. They were great, not your typical pub grub. The bangers were meaty and huge. The mash was perfect. The...gravy was delicious. It came with a side salad and hot bread roll. My wife’s beef was equally delicious. The meals were so generous that we could not eat dinner. The taste was so good we could not stop eating.
