Bidra med feedbackThe neighbourhood mall Centrepoint, located in Bandar Utama serves as the alternative to the sprawling 1Utama located less than a kilometer away. But it does serve it's purpose as a great meeting point for residents and people who don't want to have to tussle with parking woes and walking long distances. On the 1st floor of Centrepoint sits two restaurant/lounges side by side Granite is one of them. It's a very stylish room, with a large bar that greets you the moment you walk in. Inside, seating can seem to be a little cramped when it gets full, but still comfortable enough without knocking into chairs around you. Outdoor seating along the balcony is also available, though quite limited in number. The food menu offers western snacks and meals, and drinks are more the focus than anything else. Prices are very reasonable and there is a happy hour every day as well.
Before their renovation, I didn't like the food because there was nothing to shout about. We only went there for drinks. However, I returned after the renovation last night and was surprised by the new menu. We ordered the pork platter and the siew yuk came...OMG, did the chef just knock himself on the wall and suddenly become a MasterChef?! I had low expectations of siew yuk from a bistro but this blew me away! 5 layers of fat and meat and crispy skin that went crunch, crunch and crunch! This was as good as Pudu. If they keep this going you can see me returning over and over again for food, besides for Guinness.
Really nice place to chill and grab some drinks with friends. I enjoy the ambiance here a lot as well as the pork dishes. Parking is easily available too. It can get really packed as it’s a popular place.
Smokers paradise. Not suitable for families. Centerpoint is a family centric mall with yamaha, mpm, shishida maths etc. But this place is killing the kids who will get lung cancer by 15 years old by allowing smoking in this mall. And now they are trying to launch a brunch menu to target parents. Please. Officially boycott.
Food is great. But be prepared to smell cigarette smoke the whole time you are eating. It doesn 't matter which section you are at. You 'll smell it. Ridiculous practice for an indoor dining restaurant. Good luck catering just to smokers.
