Bidra med feedbackWe ate lunch so pizza was unavailable but pastas and antipasti were really, really tasty. I would even say that local house made pasta and marvelous pickled red onions were the best among all the restaurants we had in the area. The service was fast, maybe not super friendly but totally ok. It’s also the only place in the area you can have home made ice cream they are rather old style but really nice. On the way through “10 castles”definitely recommended.
We travel to the area often and this is always our first night arrival destination. There is no way one can describe the pizza at La Pieve simply extraordinary and never fails to deliver. Our two teenage sons will normally devour anything that passes for food however they have given up eating pizza anywhere else but here. The portion sizes are American ! and the prices for pizza simply ridiculous or maybe we are just being taken for a complete ride in the UK? Family run, La Pieve gets a lot of local trade always a good sign when the majority of diners are Italian. Book a table on the terrace if you can, just for the experience of watching the twinkling lights of Sorana across the valley
Very good home-cooked classic food. Full lavoro lunch for 11 euros. Beautiful location next to the church in Castelvecchio in Svizzera pesciatina. We speak only a little Italian. Our family was treated like second-class citizens. Busy with locals for lunch, our server left us for 45 minutes, ignoring us while she served her regulars. It was awkward, especially trying to keep three small children entertained with nothing to do or eat. After a month in Italy, this was the worst service we experienced.
We had the set menu, 'a workers lunch ' which consisted of pasta followed by meat served with beans, home made chips and local wine all for 11 euros. The portions were big and the food was delicious. The pasta was particularly good.
