Bidra med feedbackThis really wonderful restaurant is in a small town next to Thiers and about 10 minutes or less from the autoroute. After Clermont Ferrand and well before St.Etienne, we stop off here every year (a trip we normally make twice a year) while heading south. Lunch time meals are terrific and served in a beautifully renovated restaurant that includes a large outdoor terrace for good weather. Everything we've ever eaten here has been very good. As usual, we almost always take a plat or menu du jour. This time we ate for 49 Euros, which included a glass of wine for me and dessert. If you should be near here at lunch time, it's well worth driving off the autoroute to eat at Eliotel. You will NOT regret making the small detour!
Still, we think, an impressive work in progress, this three part hotel restaurant part classically styled, part lighter and brighter and part outside under parasols proved a delight when we visited for dinner. Select the area that suits your mood. It's frequented by hotel visitors and locals alike which suggests it's of good quality and acceptably priced. We found the service excellent but not overpowering, the food unusual enough to be interesting and the portions on the right side of adequate. Overall a lovely ambience. Pink Palace? You'll work it out when you get there!
A meal that was really too expensive and not good, cold and soft fries at 51 euros per person, that doesn't justify it.
A restaurant that would like to be “big”. Yes, the decor is there but the quality of the dishes is not. The fries are oil pumps cooked in a single cooking, the amuse bouche (a poor wrap spread with I still don't know what) the same in the evening and the next day at lunchtime, the fish offered the same.... lots of show but nothing good. To flee
The restaurant is absolutely not closed!!!I went there mid July everything went very well it was excellent
