When I got there the reception looked irritated and said I had no booking yet I had booked at 9:30 am and been told it was confirmed. Yet they had no record. They tried to put me at a table where the icy wind from outside would make the evening and dinner very unpleasant then tried to put me at a bar seat. There was no recognition that I had done due diligence and booked a table and it was confirmed. I went home and had to cook myself a dinner. Will avoid this restaurant in future. They can't seem to honour their commitments.
Many times being there, always surprise about stars missing. Madame Le Chef Clara Berta simply wonderfully invented continuously new dishes together with her husband Tony, the great story teller at your table. You will love the food as this couple of Italian Cuisine Geniuses have the real passion of the Italian culinary culture. They love what they do and you will get it at the first taste.
This tiny gem of a restaurant has been in the Berta family for three generations. Chef Clara Berta presents a gourmet update of traditional Italian fare with sophisticated, presentations that are works of art for the eye as well as the palate. The local wines were also excellent. And you must leave with a loaf of bread baked in the restaurant's traditional oven. Well worth the 45 minute drive from Turin.
As a tourist you will never stop at this homely restaurant in a very small village near Turin. Excellent variation of starters (I was almost full after), very good main courses. Special atmosphere with very family feeling!
So I hesitated before putting four or five star to the review as this is not a high scale fancy restaurant. BUT: the quality of food is just perfect.the restaurant is located in a very small village far from everything. Their outdoor patio is incredibly enjoyable during summer time. Tony, the waiter and owner of the place is a great host. The restaurant specialises in fish. For starters i took the plate of schrimps and prawns. They were prepared and seasonned to perfection. Then i tried the schrimp spaghetto and this was great also. I got to taste the red tuna which is also amazing. So overall this was a wonderful evening. They have a large choice of good wines and spirits. Prices are not cheap but given the quality of ingredients and how they are prepared it is absolutely worth it. If you are in the area, make a detour by this restaurant.
