Bidra med feedbackI like the mango cake (previously bought for a friend's birthday) and a big fan of the wife cakes. I always get a couple of wife cakes if I'm in the area. My LO likes the mini cupcakes and pandan roll.
Beautiful, light, airy bread and pastry. It is incredibly cheap for its delicious, high quality offerings. Pineapple coconut pastry is sooo addictive, we grab a couple whenever in the area.
Good quality bakery items to take away, and at reasonable prices too. A fairly typical Asian bakery that apparently provides custard tarts and other items to well known local restaurants. Many of the cakes and buns are light end airy. I've always had friendly, efficient service here.
Just a few doors down from Tak Chee House (awesome chicken rice) is Esther’s Cake Shop. Being a sucker for baked goods, I was immediately drawn in to the egg waffle that was freshly made and ordered one of those. There's plenty of other items on display and the freshly made warm Chinese egg tarts had that on my order as well. It's really yum, lovely flakey pastry, warm soft custard. The Portuguese egg tart version has more sweetness which I prefer but these are yum too. As I walked back to the city, I munched on the waffle that was really delicious. I love baked goods and these met my sweet tooth cravings.
I grabbed a sneaky slice of the green tea cake and the oreo cookie cheesecake to sample as options for my husband's birthday cake. The green tea sponge did seem a little on the dry side, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. The oreo cheesecake was a moorish, creamy, melt in your mouth delight, topped with oreo halves. Very nice little treats that were not overly sweet suits my palate just perfectly!
