Scholte House Museum Gardens - Pella

Stopped in over the weekend and had a wonderful time. My wife and I are the type to inquire and ask a lot of questions and the very kind and knowledgeable lady at the front must've taken 20-30 minutes to chat with us not just about the house but about the history of Pella in general.We had the good fortune to be the only folks there and got to take a very leisurely stroll through reading the many informative plaques placed around the house.The house itself was very well kept and is clearly well cared for. There were many interesting artifacts from Scholte and his family in the house and we learned a lot about the founders of the town.We had a great time and it was well worth the price of admission for anyone looking to have some fun-ducation.

Very interesting history of Pella, Iowa. The tulip time festival and parade is amazing. Highly recommend!! Great family trip.

Docents were a bit uninformed. But still an interesting history of a founding father of Pella and father of relocating reformed Baptist from the Netherlands to the US under religious persecution.

Stopped in to tour the house and was greeted by a very personable lady who gave us the instructions. It was a self guided home with lots of beautiful items from the home to explore. Toured upstairs and downstairs in about 20-30 mins. Then walked through the gardens.

Beautiful garden and an interesting historical experience.
