The grand cafe is an authentic amsterdam cafe and not on a good wise. it was hard to get the attention of the server, and when we got his attention, the order was full of errors. as an American we ordered ketchup with the fries that did not come with the food. we asked again, and yet it has not arrived. I finally went to the bar to ask, and after a debate (they wanted me to ask the waiter), I finally got a tiny dish of ketchup. Later, when we get the bill, we noticed that this ketchup was added for €.50 I was seen, and nowhere on the menu said that ketchup cost extra. when we ordered fresh mints, we asked the waiter after honey, and again he did not arrive with the order. when we had ordered the desert, it took so long that I am convinced that they have forgotten to order them. after the memory someone came by quickly with the ice. when the bill was paid, the drinks were included from a nearby table on our bill. did I mention that? I tried the focaccia with Thai chicken, which proved to be two roasted cracker with curry sauce on the huh. I only give one, if I leave frustrated, which is not often, but grand cafe deserves it.
