El Travo - PEDAVENA

Large premises with outdoor seats excellent toast and sandwiches with parking and possibility to see football matches

This place is definitely off the beaten track so to speak, but if you are anywhere in the area drop by! El Travo is just a 100 meters from the famous Birerria of Pedavena, and is a great place to go after the birerria closes. the place stays open until 3AM! Its mostly a drink spot, but it has really good toasted sandwiches and cold cut plates from local farms. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and when they have live music (usually Saturday nights) it really jumps. There are very few international travelers that come to Pedavena, but the little known fact that makes this a hidden gem is that it is at the gateway to the Dolomite ski country. Taking the scenic route up from Venice makes it certain you pass near the small city of Feltre on the way to Belluno, and it is there, 3 Km away, that you will find Pedavena. I have lived here for over 40 years, and the locals will probably hate me for letting out the secret, but this is one of the last places with true Italian mountain town charm left.
