Bidra med feedbackI brought my family and a friend to Atchafalaya near Idlewild. I made a reservation, so I sat very briefly. There was no empty table in the room. No special dress code. Some formal, while other blue jeans wore. Beautiful cabin style interior decor with high vault ceilings in the dining area. The dining area was large with a nice bar, but still not too loud. The dining area comfortably sat 75 people with plenty of space. Beautiful gentle atmosphere. Great choice of dishes, but nothing overly expensive. All from $5 children's dishes up to $25 beef talloin. The drinks came out. I had tea. The lemon was slimy, but it seems that this is more common than not, just about somewhere where I eat. I therefore avoid completely resaurant lemons/limen. Once ordered, there was no time before the food came. I lost time, but it seemed 5-10 minutes. I had fried onion rings with beef-denderloin medals and an avocado/tomato salad (Arta like guacamole add tomatoes without the cuminaroma. It also came with Canteloupe. The combination of marinated beef, salad and onion rings made it a bit salty, but the canteloupe helped to balance it. My friend had the Hamburg steak, green onions and potatoes. She liked it and I also took a bite of everyone and it was on site. My daughter had a fried shrimp child's meal. She liked it, but the Pommes were salty. I tried her and she was right. I asked for a 1/2 order of replacement frits without salt and they immediately picked them up with a smile. A friend also had the fried shrimps. It was good. She agreed. To dessert I had the white chocolate cream broil. I love cream broil and had bad experiences with people who take a traditional dish like this and change it completely with chocolate or other supplements. I ordered it and to my joy, the white chocolate taste was very delicate and subtle. The consistency was how cream should be brule. I ate the whole court. All the others who had dessert had the cheesecake. The dessert had a strong cream cheese taste. No one ate more than 1/2 because, how rich and cheesy it was. I'm suggesting more fluffy, less cheese. Not drastic, just a subtle change. All in all, we were happy about our culinary experience, the pleasant nature of the staff and the food. I live about 20 minutes away, so I would say that you don't likely find more than a few restaurants in a 30 miles radius as good as this. Maybe one in Morgan City, one in Franklin and some in New Iberia. For a nice place to take your family, I would go here if in the area. The hidden pearl of Patterson, LA.
