Vask Tapas Room - Pasig

I dined at this restaurant in Manila with friends and the food was absolutely delicious! If you're searching for a classy evening out with outstanding cuisine and a pleasant atmosphere, this is the perfect spot for you.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The tapas were excellent, the food was great, and the ambiance was nice and casual. I highly recommend trying the black risotto with scallops or the wagyu carpaccio. However, the best option is to try the degustation menu. The service was great and it was wonderful to sit outside and enjoy dessert or an aperitif.

Vask has a strong reputation, but our experience on Christmas Eve last year did not meet our expectations. The dinner buffet was underwhelming, with the cochinillo lacking flavor and crispy skin. None of the dishes stood out, making us feel like we didn't get our money's worth. However, the service was good.

We visited this restaurant for lunch on a weekend and enjoyed it very much. We ordered different starters and especially liked the smoked octopus. The main course scallops with squid-ink risotto is a must-try dish. The quality of the meat (chuleta) is also excellent. Service staff were well-trained and attentive. We will definitely come back.

Had dinner with friends, our original reservation was for the Gallery Vask. One of our friends does not eat seafood so rather than pester the chef with a lot of substitutions we opted to move to the Tapas Room. I liked the food well enough but was a little underwhelmed, I guess I had higher expectations considering the chef was from elbulli, from Catalan, and I had my tapas experience in Barcelona to draw from. Perhaps it was the food selection, I left it all to one of my friends who had been there before. I'm sure a second visit might produce better dining results. In any case, I still had a favorable dining experience, we consumed 2 bottles of wine, and the company and conversation were awesome. The view from the terrace is amazing, great for hanging out on a cool evening with cocktails and friends! I don't mind going back and definitely will still plan on hitting Gallery Vask in the future.
