Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant offers a one-of-a-kind and enjoyable dining experience! Following a fantastic day at the spa, this culinary treat was exactly what we were looking for. Dressed in our cozy robes, we entered, sat at the table, and ordered our drinks before embarking on the 15-course meal. Each dish that arrived was better than the last, with the tapas seemingly endless. We tried to remember our favorite dishes, but by the end, we were quite full. However, we couldn't resist ordering a couple of extra tapas that we found particularly delicious. Photography of the food was allowed, but capturing other guests or anything else was not permitted for privacy reasons, as everyone was in their robes. This dining experience is not a quick one, as the servers are efficient but it still takes time to complete the 15 courses. If you are impatient, this may not be the best option for you. Overall, everyone around us appeared to be enjoying themselves and we also had a great time.
If you are visiting the Grotto Spa, highly recommend reservations for the Tapas. It was a two hour experience of amazing flavours. Be warned though…don’t plan any strenuous activities afterwards!
Yes it was expensive, but for a real treat, it was worth every penny, First, this is atop the spa building, and requires a reservation. Second you MUST don one of their wonderful bathrobes, Hence no pictures : After being escorted to our seats the waitress explained the dining experience. We were presented with a stream of tasting platters, each explained in detail when served. After tasting every delicious morsel you have the option to re order as many of your favourites we wanted, hence the endless in endless Tapas. If you have room the included dessert platter was marvellous. Give yourself lots of time, and arrive hungry. You won 't regret it!
I have mixed feelings about this experience. I was so excited for it, but mostly it was a let down. They seemed to cook the tapas in groups in the back, so if your table wasn’t ready for yours yet it would sit there and parts that were supposed to be crispy would get soggy and cold etc. Some items were great, others were so-so. However, unless you want to be really wasteful with your food, and you finish what they bring you, it is highly unlikely that you’ll have room to eat any additional tapas. We didn’t even get one of them and didn’t have room for more, and we have good appetites. Chairs were really uncomfortable, though they looked super cute.
After my more recent August, 2021 visit I noticed some changes to the ambitious menu with improved dishes in terms of flavours and balance. I think just a few more subtle tweaks and it would be back to a 5 star rating at least for me. In the meantime I feel this is a lovely way to end a spa treatment and adds a unique and special touch unparalleled in my spa experiences.
