Driftwood Chinese Buffet - Parksville

Try no buffets in from hours, better order from menu in this case. when they go to lunch or dinner, the buffet is pretty good. of course more seafood at dinner one, but dimming to lunch for those who like it. driftwood is better now because it has been open for a while.

Ordered at 3:30 for 4:30 pickup. Got food at 4:50. Ordered pork chow mien, got shrimp egg foo young. Food was soggy and tasteless

I almost avoided this place based on the reviews, but i am so glad I decided to try it for myself.We got the evening buffet. Went around 5:00, and it was busy, but fast service. Excellent customer service/friendly staff/very attentive.Food was delicious. There was not one thing I tried that I didn't like. Nothing was greasy. Wonton soup was very flavourful (the Wontoton soup seemed a common complaint on the reviews...not sure why? Huge variety of dishes. Food was proper temperature. I don't eat fish/seafood so couldn't comment on that, but my mom ate a couple types of shrimo and enjoyed it.Looking around me, everyone seemed satisfied with their meals.I recommend giving it a try :)Picture is of me sampling pretty much everything but fish/seafood (allergies)

Just to save anyone else time form ordering takeout form hereI got deep friend prawns and when I bit into them I also noticed the all the veins were still on them I got a big string of black. They were also the smallest I’ve seen so it was mostly just batter. I also ordered the deep fried squid and there was so much corn starch clumped on it that it was all I could taste. I was really bummed because the order was expensive and I tipped generously. I thought about calling back but I honestly don’t think it was a one off so I’d suggest ordering elsewhere.

We went to this restaurant in Parksville for Father's Day, for lunch but arrived 15 minutes after the buffet was closed. The wonderful staff opened up the buffet for us and treated us like royalty. Theywere incredibly hospitable, asking if we wanted anything else. We have never had such wonderful service. It was a 5 star experience all round. Great staff and great food. We will be back.
