Bidra med feedbackIn response to Rediburton and your review of the 15/2 my husband and I were there when you carried on like a spoiled two year old regarding your meal perhaps if you had approached the staff in a reasonable manner and not charge at the counter as you did you may have made your point more clearly, letting the whole shop know of your dissatisfaction only made you look silly. A big congratulations to the staff, I personally would not have been as nice. We have had several breakfasts here and never had a problem, lovely food, coffee and excellent staff
Yesterday 15/2 my husband and and I stopped here for breakfast, the young girl (we were later told it was her first day) attempted to take our coffee order twice verbally but couldn’t remember it so went and fetched an iPad that she appeared to have difficulty using, the first coffee bought to the table was not what was ordered. It is unclear on the menus or on any signage wether you should order at the counter or whether it is table service, so as no one returned to take our breakfast order and there were 4 people waiting at the counter to order with both the lady in charge and the young girl fully engrossed in an iPad seeming to have difficulty taking an order at the counter I waited to make an order, but decided after a while to go to the bathroom and order on return in the hope the others would have been served. I returned from the bathroom to find the same 4 people waiting and the same struggle going on with the First Ladies order. Eventually the lady was sorted and after a discussion with no order placed the other 3 people left and I asked for 2 of the Vego breakfasts sour dough toast with poached eggs rocket beetroot hollendaise and crumbed feta. The meals were served reasonably quickly, but as soon as they arrived it was clear all four pieces of toast were burned black around the edges, it was also clear that someone had attempted to cut off some of the burned parts, there was no feta on the plates at all, the plate was smothered in a bright pink runny sauce that was very unappealing when we cut into the poached eggs all had the consistency of a soft boiled egg with no running yolk. The taste was a mixture of burned toast and a sickly sweet flavour from the pink sauce. I tried to get the attention of the staff, regarding the burnt toast and lack of feta, but both were again engrossed in an iPad attempting to take an order at the counter, so I stood close to the counter and moved in to several positions to try and get some attention for a few minutes but neither of the ladies raised their eyes once from the iPad. As we had a long journey ahead I returned to the table and ate as much of the meal as I could, but it was awful. Eventually the lady in charge came and asked if everything was ok and we brought to her attention the state of the toast and lack of feta, she offered to have the breakfast replaced but we declined, we were 90% done and she bought out two tiny dishes of feta and two small pieces of blond toast that we left. When I went to the counter to pay, and reiterated my dissatisfaction that any cook would serve toast in such an advanced burnt state the lady apologised but said I should have bought it to her attention earlier, if only that had been possible. Perhaps in a tiny cafe like this a bit more attention on the customers and food being served and a paper and pen would go a long way rather than trying to use an iPad ? We were then charged $40 for the dreadful meal. I suggest you try another cafe in Parkes.
We waited a long time for our meals at lunchtime today. When they came the meat in both meals was very clearly undercooked. The staff were good when we brought this to their attention and were prepared to make us a sandwich instead (we were in a hurry to get going). It was disappointing.
I moved to Parkes from Orange a few years back and wasn’t sure if I’d find a place that served good coffee. I’d tried a few places and most seemed to be hit and miss. The Pink Orchard however serves consistently good coffee made by friendly and obliging staff. I sometimes order with the Hey You App and the coffee is always exactly how I ask for it. A very good range of gluten free cakes/slices and light lunches. Adjoining is a florist where you can purchase reasonably priced flowers for that special someone. Plenty of parking around, clean restrooms and inside/outside dining.
Great place to have a light meal, morning or afternoon tea, with a small group. Floris environment makes it special.
