Agriturismo La Polledrara - PALIANO

I live in Rome and am on the hunt for the perfect getaway and this is it. I went on the recommendation of an Italian chef and whilst the food is divine for me, it is the setting, peace and genuine hospitality which will ensure I return before too long. Under an hour's drive from Rome, La Polledrara is set in rolling hills and fields with hay bales which are made for Instagramming at sunset. There is a pool (which I had to myself when I visited) and a wood burning oven where the bread was baked for Sunday lunch. The rooms are simple, but comfortable and so peaceful and even after one night, I felt rested and restored. Thank you to the whole team I will be back!

The site is lovely and the facilities of good quality. You can sit in a glass-walled dining room and be surrounded by fine views of verdant fields, rolling hills and distant blue mountains. Service is OK too. On the day I ate there the food did not show to best advantage. The bruchetta and salads were pleasant and the pasta better than average. However, the marinated lamb was almost black and dripping in oil. Several in our party did not finish the dish and at least two of those who did suffered acute stomach upsets thereafter. The dessert cupcake looked good but was dry and crumbly. Given the beauty of the setting I wish I could say better things but I am not inclined to want a return visit.

La Polledrara epitomises rural Italy providing a stunning 360 degree panorama and set in rolling countryside with backdrop of the Appenines. The locally grown organic food provides the ingredients for excellent cuisine. Add comfortable accommodation and you have all you need for a great Italian experience. Internationalranger

A wonderful discovery! we had a fabulous Sunday with family and friends at La Polledrara. The food was simple but delicious giving a true flavour of Italian cuisine. The setting is stunning and very family friendly. The staff could not have been more helpful and polite, we shall definitely be returning!
