Madonieat - PALERMO

This deli bistrot is all about organic and local food from Madonie: you can taste the simplicity and authenticity of this wonderful land and take with you the most amazing memories. The menu varies depending on the seasonal products they have in the shop. We ordered a super nice focaccia with sundried tomatoes and some vegetables on the top, as an appetiser. As a main, we chose two different legume soups, one with lentils and the other with chickpeas: they are served with delicious local bread and they were as simple as incredibly good! We also ordered two exquisite sides (we were pretty hungry), one with selected baked seasonal vegetables and the other was a colourful salad. Finally, we had some seasonal fresh fruit and organic orange paste gelèe to share: they were beyond delicious. We strongly recommend this place! Also, you can buy local products, such as food preserves, pesto, patè, legumes, pasta, biscuits, wine, to make really appreciated gifts or to enjoy with your family and friends. They also ship around the world.

The pictures looked so beautiful, so I was excited, but it was only olives that sun-dried tomatoes and artichokes were served on different ways. not the beautiful fresh veggies I was hoping for. more like oil and a little more oil, which is beautiful, but not for their whole lunch. not much for vegan and as a cheese removed to make it vegan, there was no alternative.
