Bidra med feedbackSitting outdoors in the square we got the best granita and bioche cu tuppu of all palermo, just like we remembered for many years ago.
After a hot bit of sightseeing we stopped for lunch. A lot of people sitting here so we sat and ordered. Inside seating and outdoor under umbrellas. We ordered 2 large and 1 small beers, and toasted pinini's. One tuna olives and tomato, one chicken lettuce and tomato and one with a burger. They arrived one by one!! The burgers panini was burnt. The chicken was bread crumbed and no lettuce and the tuna ones olives had stones in. 30 Euros. Staff were finding it hard to serve everyone. A bit stressed.
This is the first time that I will have posted a very negative review in all my years of Trip Advisor Reviews. Having just arrived in Palermo we needed to get some lunch and a drink-The Piazza San Domenico was very close to our apartment and so we dropped ourselves into a couple of chairs-and waited. Eventually a lady -who appeared to be involved with the running of the restaurant- came to our table with menus and asked us what we would like. We ordered some drinks and a couple of Pizzas. A few minutes later a waitress arrived to take our order-we explained that we had ordered but did so again. The drinks arrived and the wait started. We saw that the kitchen was a little slow as many tables were waiting for their food-but no problem-the sun was shining and we had a cold beer and some water. Food started to arrive-some of which was sent back by one table. However after several tables who had arrived sometime after us had been served, and after a reminder from myself to the waitress we decided to pay and go. 1 hour and 15 minutes after our order had been made. They said the kitchen was experiencing some problems and that our order had been lost. Some management-owner ship presence and a little courtesy would have solved the problem but sadly none was evident and two poor waitresses were left to handle the whole outside terrace and the customers-definitely recommend to give it a miss.
We stopped here for dinner. We were seated immediately but the ordering was tedious. The wait staff appeared to be running around in circles although it wasn't that busy. The waitress had a hard time understanding us. She went for help but the waiter didn't get what we were saying. When we finally got our food, it wasn't that good and it was pricey. We sat outside so we were subjected to beggars who came to our table. This is actually common in Palermo.
Having been walking round Palermo in the heat, we decided to stop for lunch. The restaurant has inside and outside seating. Obviously used by a lot of tourists, it was very busy and the staff seemed over worked. We ordered three beers and three toasted paninis. The paninis were brought out slowly and one by one. They were burnt and only the burgher panini was tasty, though the burghers were a little under done. The bill was around 30 euros.
