Spend the day here enjoying the views of the pacific ocean from the rocky lava cliffs or watching the surfers ride the waves while sharing the beach with the sea turtles that are basking in the sun! You can also enjoy laying out on the beach or picnicking under the picnic shelter. This stop should be on everyone's Maui bucket list!! You won't be disappointed!
This beach park is at the beginning of the road to Hana. Only about 15 minutes from the airport. For my wife and I, the best part was seeing the turtles. They often come out and send them selves in the afternoon. When we were there, there at least 20–30 turtles. They are in a rock Dorf area, for their protection. However, you can watch them from ground level or from above. It was quite enjoyable! The beach also has barbecue area, bathroom and changing facilities. Overall, a really nice beach area!
There is no better place to see sea turtles in Maui. I didn't try counting, but there is easily more than fifty. Parking can be tough to find, but the stop is well worth it. Plus you'll see lots of locals surfing in the area as well.
We saw dozens of Hawaiian sea turtles. They just bask on this beach. You can swim out in the ocean and they will just swim by you. You can also walk the upper parking lot area to a beautiful view of the ocean and tide pools.Praying for Maui right now after the devastating fires. Lahaina isn't far from this beach.
