Grand Cafe - Pacheco

Located inside a casino and Not open to the public. Must be a gambler. Would not seat us unless we were gambling

This is inside the Grand Casino, a local card room. The casino patrons are able to order ahead from their tables and they get preference over customers off the street. The local County protocols are in place, masks, show vaccine card and ID. Once that's completed, which takes a hot minute, you're issued a wristband. I was seated pronto and my server, Emily came out right away and was friendly and engaging. She actually enjoys her job or makes you think she does. Regardless, she seemed to be the only server for the dining room, whizzing by and setting up orders on tables for patrons while letting me know she was busy with orders but would be right around with a menu. I chose to come here because it was close 9:45pm and didn't want fast food. Also I really wanted a steak, which is what I ordered. I requested medium and it was seasoned and grilled to my liking. The vegetables were probably frozen but they were still good just not as crispy as fresh. The mashed potatoes were a tad salty to my liking, but the best price made up for that. It was a good value for what i received, a sit down NY Strip steak meal at 10:00 pm on a Saturday night, locally. The service was slow, but Emily kept me informed with what was going on the entire time and genuinely engaging that I didn't mind. There was also a couple of screens on the wall, one had NFL and the other MLB game on, GO GIANTS!!! There's a pretty good sized parking lot, but it was packed. I found a spot in the back, but a few patrons were leaving as I was exiting. I also ordered a couple of dished to go, the Beef Chow Fun and the Lemongrass Chicken. They were packed up nicely with napkins and utensils, ready just as I was about to leave. I think this is a great spot for late night, sit down meals, especially since they're open until 11pm. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait to get your food. They have a Breakfast and lunch menu, I'll be back to try soon.

The food in the restaurant is good they have good selction most time staff is pleasent
