Bidra med feedbackWe stopped by for a quick takeout meal, and noticed that the condiments on the left side of the counter were clean and organized, while the ones on the right side looked messy. When I mentioned this to the staff, they told me that those condiments were just for show and not actually used - which was off-putting. This affected our meal and overall experience. The staff seemed indifferent and even commented that they were not good at making wraps when we had trouble eating ours. Parking can also be challenging for larger vehicles, so it's best to park in the rear lot. We will probably skip this location next time we're in town.
I recently stopped into Harvey's in Owen Sound for lunch. From start to finish, my experience was a big disappointment. The lineup was only four people deep yet it took a long time to place my order. It was a very hot day so I was looking forward to having a large iced fountain drink and a refill if I so desired. The attendant gave me my order, but handed me a cold can of pop. I said that I wanted a fountain drink but was told that the machine was broken. I asked if I would get a free refill and was told NO even though the refill was included in the price that I paid for my meal. I was disappointed. After I received my meal, I went to sit down at a table. There were several tables free but every one was dirty. Before I sat down, I had to clean a table myself. In addition, the hamburger was not up to the normal Harvey's standard. This Harvey's experience is the worst I have ever had and I will not return to this particular establishment. I pride myself in being a longstanding, loyal Harvey's customer. Therefore this meal experience was unacceptable!
Arrived just after 12.00PM to order lunch and went to get the soft drinks and there was no ice and the pop was warm. Proceeded to get a table and it seems all the empty tables were dirty and had not been cleaned. They did fill the ice machine up when we were almost done lunch but wouldn't you think they would do that at the end of the night when closing. The girl did come to clean some tables before we left but did not bother to wipe them off. This was my first bad experience at this restaurant , the staff was all young and maybe this has something to do with the condition of the restaurant. This is the newer location on the east side of town.
I arrived around 7.00 PM on a Friday night and stood in line for fifteen minutes just to put my take-out order in. I ordered Swiss Chalet soup (the Best,)! burger, fries, deep fried pickles, apple pie, and Apple juice- a hearty meal. After another fifteen minutes most of my food arrived, it was bagged and presented to me - all except the soup. I stood there waiting another 25 minutes until the soup arrived after constantly bugging my server who it was obvious was working his first rush hour shift. I suggested that my other food be replaced as it was ice cold by then. They replaced the fries, but that was all. For 25$ or so I expected more. The manager had been watching the entire time but did nothing to enquire why I had stood at the counter for more than 45 minutes. If the food wasn't so dogone good I wouldn't return, but alas, it is so good that I will return.
Maybe because this Harvey's is beside Swiss Chalet is what makes it the best, I don't know, but this location has superior quality, friendly staff, and genuine caring by Ivan when preparing your food. I don't always know the names of staff but here the combination of staff and food make it an excellent choice, Kudos to this location!
