It was once a prison. While it has moat (dry), a train bridge and double gated entry, it was never under attack. The most prominent feature is the tower, called Weisse Ruebe from the locals, in the middle. On a clear day you can see the skyscrapers of Franfurt on the NW horizon. The restaurant serves a great place price at reasonable prices. Great place to visit, I liked it so much, I had a wedding reception up there for German friends and family.
Located on the Otzberg fortress, which is already visible on a mountain. Located in the former commander's house, the castle pots are rustic furnishings that fit well into the old house. The kitchen offers Odenwälder delicacies such as cooked cheese carvings with roasted potatoes, armies knights with wine-foam sauce, rind cucumbers......all very tasty. In summer you can dine outside in the courtyard. There is a small cafe in the museum of the castle.
