Kim Restarant - Ottawa

GOLDEN GATE CHINESE FOOD on King Street in Brockville, ON GOOD: At first glance the steamed shrimp and veggie dish looked a lot better than the one I bought (and returned) at Island Delight Chinese Food (also same side of King Street in Brockville, ON) minutes before. BUT I was wrong! BAD: Above dish had several peeled and poorly cooked shrimp that tasted off . The shrimp did not taste fresh but they were peeled The veggies were overcooked (but not as much as at Island Delight), and still rested in about a quarter inch of sauce . The vegetables were uninspired and relied on whatever was cheapest to use rather than what was best . Many of them tasted old and as if they had been pre-prepped from days before Some of the veggies were squishy and mushy . I choked down what I could and fed the test to scavenger gulls at the water side park. They were happy to get it. My stomach hurts right now. Yuck! I hope the owner, Winner, reads this. I thought that she was very rude. I wouldn 't recommend this place ever. P.S. The egg roll was not great and the plum sauce was commercially prepared Wings or similar. Total price wad $16.93 and NOT WORTH IT.

Read the reviews and realized that many are old. I did not know this place in the past. My friend told me they did not like the old one but like the new one very much. I do also like the new one very much. But I know the owner is new.

I am a Chinese food snob. I'm from Toronto, but have lived in Ottawa for a few years. I tried many Chinese restaurants in Ottawa, but none came close to the quality of Toronto Chinese food, until I ate at Full House! It is truly the most authentic, tasty, delicious Chinese food I've had in Ottawa. The restaurant is lovely on the inside. The service is hit or miss. My only issue is that the restaurant does not allow customers to order a small bowl of soup, either in house or for delivery orders. This makes me sad, as I sometimes eat alone and I just want a nice bowl of soup!

We visited here for a late lunch. We all enjoyed the food. The portions are a great size, my soup hot and sour would have been enough for 3. Great vegetarian choices also. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. Staff friendly. I will visit again.
