Total surprise finding this brilliant restaurant just a few minutes away from Otranto. It’s off the beaten track so don’t expect tons of tourists which is a Relief after spending a week in tourist spots. The starters were huge, fresh and tasty. We ordered way too many dishes with the signature gnocchi and we ate everything. The fresh flavors of seafood mixed with the other taste sensations we had, made the evening Truly unforgettable. We started the evening with drinks on the lawn watching the sunset. This place not only has massive charm and appeal the food and service are top class. Really must do while in the area. Thanks. We want to come back already.

Came here for dinner after a day touring the local beaches. Surprisingly easy to get to but such a beautiful secluded setting atop a hill with a view of the countryside. Started with few relaxing drinks in the garden and watched the sunset. Never seen such a good vantage point in this area before. Then later went up to the restaurant that has an even more impressive view over the surrounding area. I'm familiar with the local cuisine and the kitchen lived up to all the legends of great traditional Pugliese/Salentino food. Il Follaro did all this but with a more modern flare to their presentation and their use of really interesting local produce. It was authentic local food but intelligently elevated and cooked well. A really nice place to come and treat yourself to an elegant meal in the Salento. Service was refined and the waitstaff had great knowledge of the local produce and wine offering. Nothing too rushed or hectic about the atmosphere. The interior/exterior is modern and refined with some great unique details. The lighting is beautiful even after the sun goes down. Now I'm thinking what friends I can convince to have an event here so we can all take advantage of this great food and this great location. I recommend for anyone who wants a unique dining experience while in Salento that is all about great local cuisine in a sophisticated setting.

Picturesque setting with lovely view over the olive groves. Trendy outdoor bar area with Arabic flair. The menu includes meat and fish; it is based on the Salento tradition interpreted in a modern and sophisticated style. The grounds include an ancient church and a park where children can play. Family friendly and also ideal for couples.

Beautiful location with a panoramic, friendly and competent view the young owner who combines sympathy with the fact of offering excellent dishes. excellent olive leaves to the eggplants and cacioricotta, as well as the gnocchi with the cernia, both memorable. beautiful idea of dressing olive trees with handmade shirts. to return in a summer evening to enjoy longer than the place. Finally interesting visit to the Byzantine crypt located in the property.
