In a city without any vegetarian restaurants, I dined at the now-closed bio-Q restaurant a few years ago. Despite only having non-alcoholic drinks with my meal, I was pleasantly surprised by the vegan options available, particularly the hearty vegan cake. Although it was part of a chain, this location stood out with its delicious vegan desserts. I must say, I was impressed.

In a city that lacked vegetarian restaurants a few years ago, I now frequent the closed organic Q restaurant. After having only soft drinks for dinner, I couldn't wait to try this new store. It may be part of the same chain, but this branch offers delicious vegan cakes and hearty pastries. The Mađarica (a Hungarian cake similar to Dobos cake) was a bit bland compared to what my grandmother used to make, but that's to be expected with macrobiotic food. They say hunger is the best sauce, after all.

Sure, it's the same as any other store of the same chain, but their vegan savoury pies and vegan cakes saved the day. I must admit that Mađarica (Hungarian pie, a cake similar to Dobos torte) is somewhat bland, not alike my grandma used to make, but, that's what you get with macrobiotics, and hunger is the best sauce.
